New York Fashion Week Day 1

It's my first time coming to New York Fashion week and let me tell you, the weeks of preparation have been worth it! Thursday was my big travel day, and if it weren't for my amazing interns who called to wake me up at 3:30am, I would have missed my flight! The weeks following up to fashion week were filled with millions of emails and calls, as well as countless hours of shopping and putting together all my outfits for the week.

Manhattan is a big place, and I'm grateful that I have familiar faces from Alabama with me. We have the amazing opportunity of staying at Hotel Hayden, a chic hotel in the Chelsea neighborhood known for its Greek flare and welcoming staff. I am so exited to partner with Hotel Hayden and offer my Lowe Riders (my readers) a 15% off discount, based on availability, you can use the code FWEEK when you book your next visit to NYC. The first two days were pure madness: photo shoot after photo shoot, meetings with people in the industry, and of course traveling to runway shows and presentations. Saturday has been the best day so far because I was finally able to grasp how fashion week really works, and watch a little bit of the Alabama football game of course. (Roll Tide!)

I have a new found respect for all of the wonderful brands that put on these presentations and shows. There is so much behind the scenes work that goes into fashion week that I didn't know about, and I'm so blessed to have the opportunity to travel to New York and learn the ins and outs of fashion week for the first time. This might have been my first time at New York Fashion Week, but it certainly won't be the last y'all!
